Content marketing idea for BMW brand

  This is a student-concept for a Sheridan Pilon School of Business Digital Marketing Course.

           I create this campaign for BMW company. My idea is conduct a promotion campaign for customers. We provide discount for customer. On a special day, we sell all series model cars to customers. If customers’ relatives or friends has a BMW car, customers will receive 10% off discount to buy their cars. My audience is someone who already had a BMW car and middle class and middle-upper class customers.

My goals are clear out 2016 BMW car inventory and provide customers benefits and have good relationship with customers and find new customers. I think l will launch this campaign on September because 2017 BMW cars will come on the end of this year. My social strategy is use internet and public platforms. We use Facebook, Twitter and Youtube to promote our campaign. We also focus on use advertising, TV and newspaper to attract customers. We will mention BMW provide to benefits to customers. BMW won’t care about profit, BMW want appreciate customers for supporting BMW.

This post has 1310 likes and video played for four hundred thousand times and 224 comments and 161 shares. I think the reason why this posts is successful because Honda focus on public relationship. Honda wants have good public relationship and give customers good impression. Honda official webpage on Facebook has 4213762 likes.

The Brand
In this case, I am creating a marketing campaign for Tesla. This is an upcoming brand that has reached great heights recently in meeting customer needs in an amazing way.
My Idea
My idea is to create a good marketing campaign using the You Tube as a good platform to gain potential customers’ attention. The main focus is on the electric Tesla cars that can bring a big change to the betterment of our environment.
My Audience
My audience are all the people in the globe with the ability to purchase a Tesla car. The main focus however is on the You Tube users with great interest on vehicles.
Time of Launch
The best time to launch this campaign is at the start of December when people are busy celebrating with friends and families. During this period, people normally buy presents to each other and this would be a good time to intervene with this incredible product.
Main Goals
The main goal of this campaign is to get the most subscribers on my You Tube channel which will make the campaign successful. This is because the more subscribers a channel has, the more views that one gets hence the sales for this product will rise.
How the Campaign Will Engage the Audience?
The campaign will attract more audience through advertising the channel in other social media platforms hence more visitors will be attracted. Marketing campaign is important to the brand involved and is a great tool to make sales incredibly (Kapferer, 2012).

BenzInsider is one of the blog pages that has a lot of information and upcoming news on Mercedes Benz new vehicles and brands. This page has grown big and has helped many people get information. On You Tube, the two brands have established themselves through posting videos of their vehicles hence showing the incredible features that the respective cars possess. They both post videos on the customer experience to show how good their products are. The videos contain both the interiors and the exteriors of the cars.
Frequency of Posts
The frequency of posts for Mercedes Benz is quite higher compared to that of Tesla. From the respective channels of these brands, it is evident that Mercedes Benz has a higher rate of posting compared to Tesla. Three weeks have passed since Tesla posted a video while Mercedes Benz have posted 2 videos for the last 21 hours.
Most Successful Recent Videos

The most successful recent You Tube video is a video on User Interaction and Safety. It shows how Mercedes Benz have made it easier and safer to control their vehicles using a mobile phone. The video is just a day old but it already has 5,623 views. This video gains much attention because with the current technology, electronic devices have become part of our lives and need to be embraced.
On the other hand, Tesla has not been left behind as far as their marketing on You Tube is concerned. They have managed to gain 32,386 views form a video they posted a 3 weeks ago. The period is quite long but the views are incredible which is enough evidence for Tesla’s success on You Tube. The video is on how Tesla has managed to produce good cars over time. It gains so many views since many people like to hear of customer experience before buying a product (Lehtinen, 2015).

 Mercedes Benz has about 319,994 You Tube subscribers while Tesla has around 212,199 subscribers. This is a slight difference although Tesla seem to have dominated the market by gaining more views than Mercedes Benz on their videos.

Both Mercedes Benz and tesla have established themselves well in twitter though Mercedes is far much ahead of Tesla in terms of followers and tweets (Fisk, 2014). Both brands seem to post almost the same type of content; that is, images of vehicles and great captions describing them. Moreover, there are tweets on customer feedback so as to serve their customers better.
Frequency of Tweets
The frequency of posts for the two brands differ in a big proportion. Mercedes Benz has a total of 29,200 tweets while Tesla has just 6189 tweets. Moreover, Mercedes Benz’s latest tweet was posted about 24 minutes ago while that of Tesla is around 15 hours old. This much difference shows a high frequency of tweeting for Mercedes Benz and vice versa. More so, they both obey the 50/50 rule though Mercedes is proving to be more successful on the same.



Most Successful Recent Tweets

Mercedes Benz’s most successful tweet was on October 12, 2016. It had 187 retweets and 448 favorites. This is a great progress considering the fact that the post is just a day old. The design looks so good and the photo deserves the favorites.
On the other hand, Tesla’s most successful recent tweet was posted on October 7, 2016. It is a photo of vehicles on a trip after completing a 3-billion-mile electric drive. It has 3,200 retweets and 7,400 favorites. This tweet gains success due to the fact that this vehicle saves a lot of fuel hence conserves the environment through avoiding air pollution.

 The Mercedes Benz has taken dominion over Tesla in Twitter through having a total of about 1.6 million followers while Tesla follows with a total of about 1.1 million followers. This shows that Mercedes Benz has a larger market share in Twitter.

These two brands have fully established themselves on Facebook hence getting so much influence through the likes and feedbacks they are getting. The two brands are well known for manufacturing cars. They normally post images as their cars and captions describing how good their products are to potential customers.
Frequency of Posts
For a brand to fully establish itself in the market, it is important for the brand to ensure that it posts to its customers and potential customers. This serves as a reminder to the customers of the existence of the brand. The frequency of posts for the two brands differ with Mercedes Benz taking dominion over Tesla. Mercedes Benz post after every few hours. In fact, Mercedes Benz ends up posting 3 to 6 posts per day. This is different from Tesla whose post frequency is really low. Both of them use the rule of 50/50 since they both concentrate in making the best design for the customer.
Most Successful Recent Posts

The success of a post is normally determined by the likes, shares and comments it has (De Vries&Leeflang, 2012). Furthermore, the time that the post was made is also a determining factor. A post that attracts the most likes, comments and shares in the shortest time is more successful and vice versa. The most recent successful post by Mercedes was posted on October 13, 2016 attracting a total of 23,000 likes, 179 comments and 628 shares. It is a post containing 7 images of Mercedes Benz CLS on a trip through Portugal. The rays of the sun gave the images n awesome look hence gaining so much success.

 For Tesla, the most recent successful post was posted on October 7, 2016 attracting 27,000 likes, 800 comments and 2,275 shares. It was an image of the electric-driven Tesla vehicle that had covered 3 billion miles of electric miles. The post was successful due to the incredible feature that would save 120 million gallons of gas.

The Mercedes Benz page has about 2,299,798 likes while the Tesla page has around 1,706,826 likes. This is clear indication of how successful Mercedes Benz is on Facebook.
